Words' power

All the work in the midle of an Adword campaign is focused on keywords. Every one has its own idea on which keyword is relevant or not. Teams, webmasters and the automated tools, views aren't shared. Furthermore, keywords' choice is endless. Do we need to use company's names? Websites' names? Do we have to focus on generic keywords? How to optimize our capital? Discussion is open.

We now understand why the strategy, defined upstream, is crucial. But the essential question is : which keywords are really relevant to serve our customer's strategy?

Starting to feel settled

The four teams are in position, ready to take over SEM fortifications. A telegram has been comunicated to all members which have transmitted the information to their own technical correspondants in charge of plugging-in the tag plan. This telegram precisly explains how to install the spying softwares needed into the differents web applications concerned.

Google analytics, so as the different tracking systems, were plugged-in so they can intercept all the relevant informations. And thank to those informations, the teams will be able to refine every day the global strategy on keywords purchase, marketing announces etc.

In the mean time the first two parts of the report have been sent to our general chief operator. As all teams have been abled to gather the essential information because of their recurrent contacts with their clients, we have been able to define what is their communication strategy, on which industry do they stand and what marketing tools do they use as an action leverage.

Heticians are looking for an advertiser with an e-commerce website

Making teams is one thing, finding sites is another!

Heticians teams are now confronted with their first challenge, which is to find the advertiser that matches their expectations.

To meet the criteria imposed by the teams, we need an advertiser who:
  • Has never made Adwords campaigns
  • Has an e-commerce website
  • Has few competitiors on keywords, or is positioned in a nich market

However, how hard it is to find an advertiser that meets these requirements!
After exhausting their contact book and failing to find an advertiser, Heticians had to show incredible talent and creativity in order to find the appropriate advertisers.

Google challenge : the first

The Hetic division splits in four battalions and each hold on a target and a strategy well-defined.Each Hetic's battalion is composed of five members. Each member has specific skills which will be beneficial to the team.
The strategy involves that hostilities will start on the 3rd of May 2008. At this moment, the Hetic student machine will be launched on the way of glory, and nobody will be able to stop it.

When Google challenges Hetic…

As the first confrontation is about to begin, troops from all over the world are getting organized around the strategy which will lead them to victory.

Japan, India, China, Nigeria, South Africa, the USA, Mexico, Brazil, Spain, the UK, etc… Very rapidly, students from most nations around the globe got involved in the GOMC.

France is no exception. Day after day, many prestigious schools are joining the fight.

Among them, the HETIC Batallion has enrolled 4 sections, led by M. Bataille, a veteran in marketing.

Highly motivated and prepared, their only goal is to do everything they can to become the first school to win the first online student World War.
